IED-Level Sparse Recovery for Attack-Resilient PMU Data Reconstruction in Cyber Physical Power Systems

Quantifying the Impacts of Solar PV and Utility Load on Primary Frequency Response: A Comprehensive SBCM-PFA Approach
This study proposes a comprehensive framework called the SBCM-PFA. approach (seen in figure) for compliance monitoring and a method to quantify the PFR. The framework relies on highly accurate timestamp frequency dynamic data, measured load, power generation left in service, and the size of the disturbance. The proposed method does not require information about the location of the disturbance.
The PFR includes an inertial response, self-regulation, load frequency response, and governor frequency response. All are quantified in MW/0.1Hz or in per unit.
The effectiveness of the proposed framework is validated on the converted IEEE 24 bus power system in the RSCAD/RTDS platform. The proposed method is applied to data obtained from simulation or PMU data under various utility load models and SoPVs penetration for computing PFR contribution from different resources.
Applicability of the proposed method is further demonstrated using an Indian power system real-frequency event on April 23, 2018. PMU data obtained from report is used for computing the PFR in this case.
